A meeting was held at the Observatory on Balgay Hill, Dundee on Monday 22 October. Anne Youngman, Scottish Bat Officer for the Bat Conservation Trust presented the meeting and discussed the following.
Anne talked about this years Dundee bat project and briefly re-capped on what was done, ( showed the maps and which squares were surveyed) and got feedback on the project from the participants. (what was good, bad, ugly, suggestions for improvement , new equipment lists etc )
Anne also discussed the possibility of setting up a Dundee bat group. The general feeling of the fifteen people in attendance was that a Dundee Bat Group should indeed be formed. We would like to thank Anne for her
presentation, and the work she has carried out. ( and also for the kit-kats)
David de Gernier gave the meeting details of this web site and the associated forum, which has been set up for the use of the Dundee Bat Group, and offered any help he could give in assisting the setting up and management of the proposed group.
Please review this site, register for the newsletter and also visit and register on the forum, so that we may keep you informed of developments, and share ideas and opinions with each other.
Please put forward any ideas or opinions you may have in regards the web site or forum, or the setting up of the bat group. If you have any skills or experience which you feel would assist the group, please let us know, although there is no pressure on people to take on committee type roles. If all you wish to do is show support, or attend and help out on bat surveys etc. that is fine.
Please put comments on the forum, in the topic named, "Proposed Dundee Bat Group discussion".
Or, e-mail them to the site administrator — link below — and I will publish them to web site.
