Our day at Balgay
It was a great day for the weather, and we had a good turn-out. Kathy Longmuir of the Dundee City Council Ranger service had everything running like clock-work and we all had fun building boxes. Thanks for inviting us along Kathy! Thanks also to Scottish Natural Heritage for financing the bat box kits. Thanks also to Anne Youngman, Scottish Bat Conservation Officer of the Bat Conservation Trust for the use of the display materials.
We had a good range of age groups and managed to complete around twenty boxes, which are now ready for putting up to be used as bat roosts.
Dundee Bat Group licensed bat carer Tracey Jolliffe came along and brought some of the bats that she is currently caring for. The Brown Long-eared bat proved very popular with the children,
